Support a HBCU 30 Day Savings Challenge
Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have been the pillar providing higher education, formulating and shaping the young, brilliant minds of African American students (as well as other races) for over a hundred years. While some HBCUs are public institutions, many are private and can use our charitable support. In order to guarantee and sustain the substance and existence of HBCUs for generations to come, we must show solidarity and provide financial support. Below (listed in by state) are the 100+ HBCUs that can use our support. Please select which HBCU you'd like to support and utilize the calendar below to guide you through your savings journey. There are also further instructions below which will guide you through this initiative. Happy Saving!

How it Works:

Step 1 - During this 30 day savings challenge, you are encouraged to follow the calendar above which provides the recommended amount of money to save daily over the next 30 days. If followed as recommended, at the end of the challenge, you will have accomplished saving a total of $465. How AWESOME is that?!? But wait, the excitement doesn't end there. If you really want to feel good about saving with a purpose, you have the opportunity to pledge and donate up to 50% of your savings to a Historical Black College or University (HBCU). It is not mandatory to make a charitable contribution, but it is encouraged. How much you donate to your HBCU of choice is completely up to you (50% is not mandatory).

Step 2 - Join our Facebook Group and follow us on Instagram: If you'd like to track and share your experience during this savings challenge and/or mention the HBCU you will be supporting by donating a portion of your savings, please visit and join our Facebook group TFMS take change make change. Leave a comment introducing yourself, feel free to share the progression of your savings journey or leave motivating and inspiring comments for your fellow "partners-n-savers."
Follow us on @trinity_fms for shoutouts, highlights, updates, and more.
Step 3 - (optional) We recommend participants separate the money you are saving daily from your everyday funds. Therefore, you may want to consider opening a new savings account that is ONLY used for the 30 day savings challenge(s), or you may choose to use a shiny . Whichever works best for you is what you should go with.

Step 4 - SHARE and RECRUIT! Spread the word and encourage your friends, family, colleagues, church members, etc. to join our efforts.
Step 5 - DONATE! Send your savings contribution to your organization choice.

Step 6 - CONTINUE to SAVE!
